Terms of use
Everything on this site, and anything bought from it, is licensed for your own personal use. You may print it, keep it, and use it with a group you teach. You may not resell it, redistribute the files, or use it commercially as a business without asking first. This site is general movement education, not medical advice.

What you may do with the material
Paid material is supplied as printable files. The licence is deliberately generous for personal practice, because a printable guide that you cannot print is useless.
- Print it as many times as you like, for yourself and for the people you live with
- Use it with a group you teach, for example a community class or a care setting, without paying again
- Keep a copy on your own devices, and make your own backup
- Write to us if you want to quote a passage, and we will normally say yes
What you may not do
The last point matters because institutional and commercial use carries different responsibilities from personal use, particularly around informed consent and record keeping. It is not a refusal. Write to us and we will work something out.
- Resell the files, or include them in a product or course you sell, without a written licence
- Redistribute the files publicly, including uploading them to a file-sharing site
- Present the material as your own, or remove the attribution and the source notes from the pages
- Use the material to run a commercial programme — a paid class series, a workplace programme, a subscription service — without agreeing a licence first
Refunds
Paid material is a digital download. You may request a full refund within seven days of purchase, including if you changed your mind. Faulty files or material that does not match its product description can also be reported for a refund or replacement. See the full refund policy for how to contact us.
What this site is, and what it is not
This site publishes general movement education: descriptions of how these routines are traditionally performed, for a general reader. It is not a medical service, and it does not diagnose or treat anything.
Nobody here has assessed you. The pages cannot account for your medical history, your joints, or your current condition. If you are unsure whether a practice is appropriate for you, that is a question for a clinician who has examined you — see the medical disclaimer.
Copyright and sources
The text on this site, the seated adaptations, the printable guides and any illustrations are original work and belong to this site. The classical verse and the historical source texts quoted here are long out of copyright and are cited with their origins.
The official published editions of these routines — including the Chinese original and the official English translations — are the copyright of their respective publishers. This site does not reproduce their text or their illustrations, and has no connection with those publishers or with any national association. Where official edition details are cited, it is so that you can check our work, and so that you can buy the book if you want it.
- The Classical verse and Ming-dynasty source texts — public domain, cited with origin
- Official movement names — short factual titles, quoted so you can match them to the official edition
- Official published editions — copyright of their publishers; not reproduced here
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the site changes. The date at the bottom of this page changes when they do. A purchase is subject to the version shown at checkout.
Common questions
Can I print the guide for my residents or my class?
Yes, if you are teaching them yourself. Printing for a group you run does not need a separate licence. Selling the material, or building it into a programme you charge for, does.
Can I use this in my care home or clinic as a programme?
Write to us first. Institutional use needs its own licence, mainly because the responsibilities around consent and record keeping are different from personal use. It is a conversation, not a refusal.
I bought the wrong thing by accident. Can I get a refund?
Yes. Write to us. Accidental purchases, faulty files, and anything that does not match its page description are refunded. You do not have to argue for it.
Can I republish part of a page on my own site?
Write and ask. Short quotes with a link back are usually fine. Republishing whole pages, or the printable files, is not.
Does this site replace seeing a doctor or a physiotherapist?
No, and it is not intended to. Nothing here is diagnosis or treatment, and nobody here has examined you. It is educational material about how the movements are performed.
